The I Am An Islander Project connected six classrooms in New York City with six classrooms in Newfoundland through the support of the NYC Department of Education, the Newfoundland and Labrador English School District, the City College of New York's (CCNY) graduate program in educational theatre, and a 2017 Broadway League Education Grant. Mirroring the creation of Come From Away, students interviewed their peers and then collaborated on an artistic classroom project using information from the interviews.
